Tell Me About HONDURAS ...

HONDURAS

The population of Honduras is approximately 5.6 million. There are three major shellfishing sites along Honduras' coastline as shrimp and lobsters thrive in the mangrove swamps. Great civilizations flourished in Central America from 300 B.C. Copan is one such city in Honduras.

The northwestern part of Honduras yields bananas, whereas, cotton crops are more likely to be found in the Southern part of Honduras, near Choluteca. In the eastern regions of Honduras (south of the Patuca River), timber is farmed.

Unlike Nicaragua, there are no major mining sites in Honduras. Cocoa and coffee beans are not major agricultural products produced by Honduras. The only major industrial center in Honduras is its capital.
