Created shortly after the breakup of the Soviet Union, the Confederation of Independent States is a loose conglomeration of the USSR's former satellites.

The nations of the CIS currently have not established bilateral or multilateral trade organizations. However, the CIS itself, under article 4 of the CIS treaty establishes a zone of cooperative trade. Herein we outline not only the nations of the CIS, but also the international economic organizations they belong to.
