BUILD A COALITION

You have chosen a prudent course of action. The support of our allies, and pressure from the international community in general, is vital to ensure a peaceful resolution to this crisis. Knowing that the United Nations is the best institution in which to rally global support, your UN Ambassador calls an emergency Security Council meeting.

After several days of exhausting debate, the Security Council seems to be roughly split along a Hawk vs. Dove basis.

The Hawks want to push for the immediate admittance of Taiwan to the UN with a seat on the Security Council, although without a veto power. International oppostion to China's aggressive stance may result in a favorable vote toward Taiwan admittance in the General Assembly.

The Doves, on the other hand, are in favor of placing economic sanctions on China. China, with a population of 1.2 billion people, and one among the top-ten multilateral traders in the world, could feel great pressure from hard-line economic retaliatory measures. The doves hope this approach would cause the Chinese to back down.

So...Are you a hawk or a dove?
