The end of the Cold War prompted a massive restructuring and downsizing of the defense/aerospace industry in the United States
that has resulted in the industry being dominated by a few large firms, including: the new Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman,
and Raytheon. In an effort to remain competitive, European firms are considering the consolidation of both private and public
defense/aerospace firms. This site is designed to give the user a historical background on recent events in the industry along with
currents events in both the United States and abroad.
