application to join the Nationalsozialistische Studentenkampfhilfe des
NS Studentenbundes der NSDAP, or "National Socialist Student Struggle-aid-group
of the National Socialist Student Union of the NSDAP." [The NSDAP, of course,
is the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Partei, the formal
name for the German Nazi Party].
On page two of her RSK application, Noelle notes that she has been a member
of the Nazi Party's student organization NSDStB since the autumn of 1935
(Item 13). Page three lists Noelle's early writing for NSDStB publications
and freelance writing for more conventional newspapers (Items 26, 27).
On page four, Noelle attests with her signature to the truth of the statements.

Noelle attached her Lebenslauf to the RSK application. There, she
describes herself as a "cell leader" and "member of the Gau student
leadership" of National Socialist student organizations. Click here forNoelle's

Das Reich was a weekly newsmagazine owned by Deutsche Verlag, the
Goebbels Ministry holding company for newspapers, magazines and book publishers
taken over by the Nazis.

Elisabeth Noelle's 'Im Hotel Markischer Adler' article is often cited by
supporters in her defense. In fact, however, modern-day mis-translation
of key words and phrases in the article distort significantly the original
version that appeared in Das Reich, March 9, 1941.
