We appeal to the Ukrainian community to work together and seize the moment before us. With the moral and financial support of every member of our community, we can make a difference now, when it counts the most. Our accomplishments to date were only made possible through the generous support of the Ukrainian community.
Since 1977, UNIS has been the voice of the Ukrainian American community in Washington, D.C. By providing timely information on issues of concern to the Ukrainian American community, UNIS is able to inform the United States government, policy makers, the academic community and the media on the current developments in Ukraine and on specific issues which are highlighted in Backgrounders and policy papers. UNIS conducts press conferences and breakfast forums on current topics of interest and runs a successful internship program allowing students to receive valuable experience in working with all branches of government, foundations, think tanks and businesses requiring information on Ukraine. UNIS has been an active supporter of the democratic process in Ukraine by preparing Washington schedules and hosting visiting Ukrainian dignitaries - economic specialists, leaders of civic organizations, political parties and labor organizations, members of Parliament, etc. It works closely with other Ukrainian American organizations - UNA, TWG, etc. When necessary, UNIS offers experienced assistance to the Ukrainian Embassy in US.
