The year is 1560, and you are an advisor to Father Las Casas who supports his cause of defense of the Indigenous peoples. What advice do you give him? While you are thinking about this, a group of Indigenous people visits you to ask for your advice on how to protect themselves. What do you tell them?

Note: In later versions of this web site we plan to have a "chat room" where you will be able to answer the question, post your answer, have other students (and the instructor) read your comments and make their own comments. For the moment you might want to type your answers in a word processing program and let the instructor have them for extra credit. We will also be discussing these questions orally in class.
