___ I. Prerequisite: completion of Spanish Conversation and Composition II (37.353), or equivalent, or demonstrated proficiency in Spanish.

Required: "Intro to Spanish Translation" (37.358/658).
Required: "Advanced Spanish Translation" (37.359/659).
Chose one from: "Intro to Spanish Linguistics" (37.361/661) or
"Applied Spanish Linguistics" (37.356/656) or
"Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition" (37.356/656)
Electives: the remaining two courses may be chosen from offerings in Spanish at the 37.356 level and above, such as Topics, Internship, Colloquia, Seminar, Classics of Latin American Literature, study abroad (in a Spanish-speaking country), Coop, etc. In each of these courses the student must complete a brief translation project relevant to the course to show mastery of vocabulary and translation techniques.
Note that courses taken for the Translation Certificate may also be applied to the major or minor in Spanish or Spanish and Latin American Studies.
