The Business Software Alliance (BSA) annually surveys 25 European countries. Their findings illustrated that software piracy costs in Europe in 1994 amounted to L4.2 billion.(11) This is an increase of 22% over the previous year's figures. Software piracy continues to be a major problem within Greece as the rate of pirated software in use across the region is running at an average of 80%, well above the European average of 58.6%. The table below illustrates where Greece stands in the software piracy league:(2)
